Garden & Shed Design

Joel Bird was the garden designer/expert on BBC2’s ‘Your Garden Made Perfect’. His gardens focussed on low cost ingenious solutions, creating pockets of joy in the humblest of spaces. He also designed all the gardens for the Channel 4 series ‘The Great Garden Revolution’, these gardens again used imaginative and practical solutions to problem spaces, but with an emphasis on creating healthy gardens that were good for wildlife.

Joel Bird was at the very beginning of the shed revolution. In 2014 he won Channel 4’s shed of the year, since then he has designed and built over 100 bespoke wooden buildings from large professional recording studios, to small efficiently designed writers sheds. He has a background in loft design and loft building & he designed and built his studio space, Bird House Margate. When it comes to small space design, very few rival his knowledge and understanding of the design and building process.

A rough guide is £200 plus travel for a site visit and basic design, but I offer reductions for people who feel they can’t afford this. I also offer a remote service for £100 and full designs with plant lists and drawings for as little as £300
